Andy Brown, Director of Cambridge Architectural Research

Cambridge Architectural Research  is one of Cambridge’s oldest green enterprises, describing itself as  “an independent consultancy providing specialist advice for the construction industry, design professionals and policy making”   Founded 25 years ago, their work includes sustainable design, environmental modelling and user research.

Andy will explain how CAR works and their business model, and share some examples of their work.   This should be of particular interest to green enterprise members wanting to build collaborations and work together because, as a limited company owned by its members, CAR has a somewhat unusual structure and business model. .. but one that has proved flexible and robust over many years.

We will also have the opportunity to hear his thoughts about the forthcoming Green Deal and  the (very new) Cambridge Retrofit Project.  We can discuss together how local enterprises might make a living out of these new initiatives.
