Lobby Julian Huppert MP on climate change

The Green Enterprise Community will be joining with representatives of other local organisations and businesses that care about climate change to lobby the Cambridge MP, Julian Huppert at 1pm on Saturday 6th November in the Squire Law Library, West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DZ

We’re planning to focus our demands on calling for

  • A green investment bank (that must have noticeable funding and include investing in green innovation not just green infrastructure) This is particularly important for green entrepreneurs because it may mop up the few other sources of funding for green innovation.
  • Energy efficient homes and shops
  • A fair and effective financial deal at the International negotiations in Cancun

This is one of 200 similar lobbies happening round the country on 5/6 Nov. To see more details on the overall campaign, click here

Its particularly appropriate timing, because the Energy Bill is going through parliament, and in the Spending Review it was announced that the Green Investment Bank would get only £1B. This sounds good, but initially it had been going to be £20B, and authoritative estimates suggest we need £200B invested between now and 2020.
