Sam Archer on sustainable development in NW Cambridge and UK 2016

This evening’s session will be an opportunity to hear from Sam Archer, Associate Director of Aecom about the £1B development of 3000 homes NW Cambridge.

This is aiming to be one of the UK’s most sustainable developments, so in addition to very efficient buildings and heating systems, they are also keen to encourage other aspects of sustainability, for example cycling, local food, and residents’ behaviour.

Sam is leading sustainable design input into the project, so it will be a good opportunity to hear first hand about the project and to discuss your ideas with him. Sam is also leading work for the UK Government on the “Path to Zero Carbon”.  The challenging target is for all new homes to be zero carbon by 2016 and new non-domestic buildings by 2019, so this is a good opportunity to understand what this is likely to mean and discuss the implications

As usual in Green-enterprise events, the evening will be participative and will include plenty of time for discussion with the speaker and other participants
